This is an interesting idea/notion to think about in terms of what "salvation" and being "saved" really means. According to the word, we must repent, be baptized in Jesus' name, and be filled with the Holy Ghost in order to be "saved," but additionally, God expects us to follow other aspects of His word or else we won't make it into Heaven. For example, if we don't practice holiness, we won't see heaven. If we don't follow the "new" set of commandments, we won't see heaven. However, aside from these "implications," are we technically saved? We won't know that we are saved until we are raptured up to heaven, or go to heaven after death (if you don't live long enough to see the rapture). We are in a sense "preparing" for salvation, but people can still sin seconds before death or the rapture and not make it. What are your thoughts?

I have been saying that for awhile now.  We ar enot saved until we are saved.  No doubt about it.

I think that this is an issue that we really need to start pressing because it is very obvious to me that more and more people think that they are "saved" and they are really not. I don't know if I have really be blinded before, but I guess I never really took notice of all of the people who think that coming to church, accept Jesus Christ as their personal Saviour, and then "check the box" and claim salvation. We really need to be reaching out to the world, and visitors in our own churches and let them know what they need to do to be considered for salvation, and what the Lord is looking for in them. We are not saved until we are saved--until we are standing inside the gates of heaven--and I hope that more people can realize this!

I htink we have an even greater issue with those that have come through the Church experienced the Acts 2:38 experience and then sit down or do not return.  They believe they are saved.  God doenst birth Children to sit and not grow.  If we are not growing we are dying.  We are not suspended in time. We are sfe for am oment but we must continue the journey we began.
